EMERGENCY POLLUTION RESPONSE CALLS 1300 784 782

The department's Pollution Response Unit provides:

  • First response to pollution incidents and emergencies 24/7
  • On-scene hazardous materials identification, sampling and monitoring during pollution incident and emergency
  • Advice on containment and clean-up
  • Training of department staff in pollution incident response
  • Environmental advice to the department, FESA and HEAT (WESTPLAN - HAZMAT, CBR) on pollution issues
  • Prevention of pollution - blitz and pre-emptive strike strategy

In the event of a hazardous materials release or life-threatening incident, call 000 and ask for Fire and Rescue.

Exceptions:

To report a fish kill, algal bloom or rubbish in the Swan River or Canning River, please contact the Swan River Trust directly on (08) 9278 0400 during office hours, or for after hours emergency pollution response call 041 919 2845.
