Bush Rangers WA the Department of Environment and Conservation’s branch of Cadets WA. “A State Government funded youth development program, aimed at creating exciting opportunities for young people of secondary school age.”

Cadets receive training in drill, first aid, bush craft and survival, navigation, radio communication, teamwork, leadership, initiative and problem solving.

Bush Rangers also have specialist training modules covering:

  • Practical Nature Conservation Projects
  • Working Safely in Natural Environments
  • The Meaning of Conservation
  • Environmental Management
  • Parks, Reserves and Landscape Management
  • Winning Back Wildlife
  • The Practice of Nature Conservation
  • Interpretation of the Natural Environment
  • Leadership in Nature Conservation
Within the Department of Environment and Conservation, Bush Rangers WA is part of the EcoEducation program for primary and secondary schools and primarily the responsibility of the Strategic Development and Corporate Affairs Division, with input from other areas.
