This document analyses submissions received in response to an invitation for selected stakeholders to comment on the Criteria for Selecting Fire Exclusion Reference Areas (FERA). Comments have been summarised and grouped so that comments addressing a similar issue are considered together.
Fire exclusion reference areas in South-West forests and associated ecosystems.
In planning for prescribed fire it is necessary to be aware of areas that need to
be excluded from burning operations or that require burning under particular
fire regimes. These areas are called Conditional Burning Areas.
The boundary and location of these areas is stored in the Department’scorporate spatial database and used during the Master Burn Planning process
undertaken each year.
