Release of the Keelty Special Inquiry

The Premier, Hon Colin Barnett MLA, has tabled in Parliament the report of the Special Inquiry into the cause of the Margaret River fire in November last year by former Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty AO APM.

Forest Management Plan 2014-2023

The current Forest Management Plan expires on 31 December 2013.

A new Forest Management Plan is being developed for the period January 2014 to December 2023.

Like the current Forest Management Plan, the new plan covers the management of forests of the state's south west, taking into account environmental, economic and social issues.
We are currently consulting with key stakeholders to produce the draft Forest Management Plan.
There will be a three-month period for the public to comment on the draft Forest Management Plan between August and October 2012.
The consultation will include public information sessions across the south-west and in Perth, and the gathering of formal submissions by post and email.
Information and documents will be posted to this site as they become available.
