Perth's Natural and Cultural Meeting Place
Located only 45 minutes north of Perth's city centre you'll soon understand why Yanchep National Park attracts over 240,000 local, interstate and international visitors each year.
Nestled in tuart and banksia woodlands, the park is home to many different water and bush birds including grebes, swans, pelicans, cormorants, egrets, kingfishers, parrots, wrens and honeyeaters. Endangered Carnaby's cockatoos are a spectacular daily sight. Western Grey kangaroos are commonly seen on the walk trails or grazing on the picnic lawns and golf course.

Caves in the park
Several of the caves in Yanchep National Park have been open for tourists during the past 70 years. These include Cabaret, Mambibby, Yanchep, Yonderup and Crystal caves.
Cabaret Cave (previously known as Silver Stocking Cabaret Cave) was converted to an underground function centre in the 1930s, with some major modifications (concrete floor, doors, wall seating) to its structure. Find out more about Cabaret Cave.
The caves in Yanchep National Park comprise one of the six major cave regions of the State and there have been more than 600 caves documented in the park.
The caves at Yanchep were formed by underground streams, which flow westwards from the Gnangara Mound. The caves in the park are quite small in dimension and close to the surface, because the ground water is only about 10 metres below the surface.
In comparison, the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Range has a water table of more than 200 metres in depth, and therefore has large caves.
Caves have three main values:
- As habitats for certain species of wildlife
- As sites of archaeological and scientific importance
- As attractions to tourists and recreational cavers.

Access:
Just follow Wanneroo Road north about 25 kilometres past Wanneroo and you will see the Yanchep National Park signs.
Alternatively, follow Marmion Avenue to Yanchep and turn right at the roundabout. Follow the road until you come to a left turn marked "Yanchep National Park".
Entry to Yanchep National Park costs:
$11 per vehicle (up to eight legally seated people).
$5 per motor cycle and concession cardholders.
$5 per coach passenger ($2 per senior coach)
Or
$20.00 Annual Local Pass, which is available only to ratepayers or residents in specific local government areas adjacent to the park, allows unlimited visits for any 12 month period.
Best season: Yanchep National Park is enjoyed by people throughout the year. However, spring is the best time to view the wildflowers.
