Introduction:

Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve is located approximately 20 kilometres south of Wyndham, is a haven during the wet season for a vast variety & amount of waterbirds. Realizing the importance of protecting the parks valuable assests, it was officially made a nature reserve in 1971, helping to ensure the continual migration of birds, as far away as Siberia.

The wet season floods bring food in abundance to the area, ensuring the migratory birds have plenty to eat. These in turn dry up, with concentrations of lagoons & billabongs, which provide perfect breeding grounds for crocodiles.

Access: Well signed tracks are accessible from the highway. Other tracks & signs regarding 4wd access are also posted.
What to see and do: Internationally important wetlands, birdlife, ramsar wetland
Safety information: Fresh & Saltwater crocodiles use the billabongs & lagoons as breeding grounds. Extreme caution must be taken when ijn this area.
