Yardie Creek Boat Tours cancelled

DEC wishes to advise that, until further notice, the Yardie Creek Boat Tour in Cape Range National Park will not be running due to operational matters.

DEC apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Temporary Closure of Southern Beekeepers Nature Reserve, Pinjarrega Nature Reserve , Unnamed Nature

An aerial feral animal control program will be undertaken in Southern Beekeepers Nature Reserve, Pinjarrega Nature Reserve, Unnamed Nature Reserve 44081, and Watheroo National Park during February 2012.

Black Point and Lake Jasper Closures reminder - D'Entrecasteaux National Park

The Black Point and Lake Jasper precincts within the northwest part of the D'Entrecasteaux National Park remain closed until further notice due to the recent bushfire.

This includes site closures to Lake Jasper, Black Point, Jasper Beach, Twin Karris and White Point recreation sites and areas. MORE

• Wellington National Park inclduing Honeymoon Pool, Stones Brook, Potters Gorge and Gelcoat, and all day use sites such as The Rapids, Big Rock, Little Rock and Long Pool
• Leschenault Peninsula Conservation Park
• Hoffman Mill Recreation Site
• Stockton Lake campgrounds
• Logue Brook Dam campgrounds

Frankland District Track Condition Update - 15 December 2011

The latest track conditions in the Frankland District:

Walpole-Nornalup National Park

• Monastery Landing - Creek Road and Gully Road are now OPEN, however Sappers Bridge will remain CLOSED until further notice.

• Delta Road - OPEN  - 4WD recommended.

D'Entrecasteaux National Park

• Fisherman's Track - CLOSED due to track inundation. The track will be monitored over coming weeks and will only be reopened once the water subsides.

Seasonal Closure - Karijini Visitor Centre

DEC wishes to advise that the Karijini Visitor Centre in Karijini National Park will be closed over the Christmas/New Year break, commencing Sunday 18 December 2011. The centre will reopen to the public on Monday 27 February 2012.

The public conveniences located outside the visitor centre will be maintained and kept open on a daily basis throughout this period. A public phone is available, and emergency contact information is posted in this area.

National Park Rangers will remain on duty in the park throughout this period.

Cascades Recreation Site Closure

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) would like to advise that the Cascades Recreation Site will be temporarily closed from the 28 November 2011 until 31 March 2012....more

Update: Bibbulmun Track Balingup Brook footbridge

The Track between Walter Street in Balingup and Grimwade Road is closed until the bridge is repaired and the area declared safe.

Walkers wishing to continue their journey in this area should follow the signs diverting them along Walter Street and Grimwade Road.
