Page 1 of 2 Cabaret Cave, in Yanchep National Park, was found by Henry White in 1902. Initially known as Milligan's Cave (later renamed "Ballroom Cave" and later still "Silver Stocking Cabaret Cave") it is one of several caves at Yanchep National Park that have been open for tourists during the past 70 years. Cabaret Cave was converted to an underground function centre in the 1930s, with some major modifications to its structure, including a concrete floor, doors, and wall seating. The cave consists of two chambers developed as a supper room and a ballroom opened in 1932.
A ball was held in honour of the Duke of Gloucester during his visit in 1934. It was used extensively as a venue for dances, Debutante Balls and as a tourist cave until it was closed in the early 1970s due to floor erosion. The cave was repaired during 1983-84 and reopened with a reception, hosted by the City of Wanneroo, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Duke's visit. The guest of honour at this event was the then State Governor Sir Gordon Reed. During 2006, the Cabaret Cave precinct received significant upgrades and is now well placed to provide your group with an extraordinary experience for your next conference, seminar, social function or special theme event. You can combine first class cuisine and service with the serene and tranquil surroundings of the park, located just 45 minutes from Perth's central business district. Photo Gallery
