Canning River Regional Park Icon

Once upon a time the Canning River was an important waterway for the movement of people and goods and played a key role in the development of the local timber industry.

Region: Perth
Where is it?: The park is located 9 kilometres south-east of Central Perth in the City of Canning. The park extends for approximately 6 kilometres along the Canning River between the Shelley and Nicholson Road Bridges.
Travelling time: About 15 minutes drive from Perth City.
Access: Major roads leading to the park include the Albany Highway, Leach Highway and Nicholson Road. Direct access to the main recreation areas is via minor suburban streets and car parks are provided at the following recreation areas: Riverton Jetty Reserve, Kent Street Weir, Mason's Landing and Ferndale Flats.
Best season: Canning River Regional Park is a great to visit all year round.
What to see and do: Attractions within the park include historic Woodloes Homestead, Masons Landing, Kent St Weir and the Canning River Canoe Trail (for further information contact the City of Canning). Other areas of interest in the park include Castledare Miniature Railway, Woodloes Homestead and the Riverton Jetty Kiosk. Walking, cycling, canoeing, picnicking, bird watching, and wildflower spotting are popular activities in the park.
Facilities: Kent Street Weir area has drinking fountains, play equipment, car parking, picnic area, toilets and park information.
