Further to previous notifications about the wildfires in Purnululu National Park (The Bungle Bungles), due to significant damage to park infrastructure and visitor facilities and ongoing fires, it has been decided that the park will remain closed for the rest of 2009.
Access road to Francois Peron National Park temporarily closed

Please be advisedthat Purnululu National Park still remains closed to the public and all commercial operations as a result of recent wildfire activity but Windjana Gorge National Park and Tunnel Creek National Park are open.

Please be advised that with the approaching wet season the Mitchell River and Lawley River National Parks in North Kimberley have now been closed for the remainder of the 2009 calendar year.

Please be advised that road works will be commencing 19 October 2009 in Purnululu National Park. The road works are expected to progress over a 5 week period and finish 23 November 2009. The work being undertaken is to improve floodways and approaches at several creek crossings on the Domes track including Grevillea Creek and Edwards Creek.
