Background:
Tuart woodlands once covered more than 111,600 hectares, but most of that has now been cleared for urban development and agriculture. An estimated 35 per cent of this valuable woodland now remains – with some areas being in small scattered remnants and others in severe decline.
In this resource, students are presented with an activity, broken down into several tasks, in which they research and investigate the issues around the conservation and management of tuart woodlands.
